Finished Pages (so far)

This is going to be a long post, I'm showing the pages that I've finished to date :)  Roughly over 100 hours spent on this so far.  The Pit & The Pendulum left hand page was the hardest one to date, for me to get right.

I realise that is difficult for you to see how chunky some of these pages are but hopefully some of it least comes through in the photographs.

I hope you get pleasure from looking at them as much as I've had creating them :) As you can see there are no holes in the pages yet, this is because I'm waiting to finish all the pages for the journal before deciding how to bind them.

Any time you see torn pages from a book, these pages are from a rescued Edgar Allan Poe book. The book was falling apart, I gave it a new life (of sorts).

The pages are 12inch x 12inch in size. I've also beefed up the image size to give the pages justice :)

Update 1

So far (at time of writing this) I've spent 80 hours working on my art journal. I've got 11 pages completed and started on a 12th one (I have two inside pages that I have not yet shared).

When I first started I had intentions of doing just two pages 12" x 12" for selected pieces of writings by Edgar Allan Poe but it seems to have changed into four pages for each piece. Best laid plans and all that, but that is the beauty of doing an art journal, just go with the flow. I got the first set of wallpaper/fabric samples that I'd ordered today that I was going to use to make an inspiration board but upon seeing them my creative muse thought they'd be better used in my art journal. Hence two more pages :)

When I am happy with the pages and stop adding to them, then I will start sharing full pics of them.

I've loved Edgar Allan Poe since I was 10, am 37 now and finally got round to doing this so it's a labour of love for me :)

Anyway, in the meantime I hope you enjoy the teaser pics and I hope you'll come back to see the finished pages/journal in the future.

Welcome

For those of you that don't know I'm in the process of creating an Edgar Allan Poe art journal, based on his stories/poems.

The pages are 12"x12" and I'm having lots of fun making it.
